The first five books of the Bible, called the Torah, written by Moses approximately 1491-1451 B.C. But the Torah not only reveals advanced principles and knowledge about hygiene, quarantine and sanitation far superior to that possessed by the Egyptians and any ancient societies of that day, but also far exceeded medical standards practiced as recently as 100 years ago. In contrast, the Qur'an written 600 A.D. states that water is never made impure by anything and later had to add the exception, for that which changes its smell, taste and color, and still is incorrect by our modern knowledge of water purity.
Hand washing
Ignaz Philipp Semmelweis (1818-65), a Hungarian obstetrician educated at the universities of Pest and Vienna was an assistant professor on the maternity ward of the Vienna General Hospital. He observed that women examined by student doctors who had not washed their hands after leaving the autopsy room had very high death rates. When a colleague who had received a scalpel cut died of infection, Semmelweis concluded that puerperal fever was septic and contagious and that he and the medical students carried "cadaverous particles" on their hands.
He ordered students to wash their hands with chlorinated lime before examining patients; as a result, the maternal death rate was reduced from 12% to 1% in 2 years. Nevertheless, Semmelweis encountered strong opposition from hospital officials as some doctors were offended at the suggestion that they should wash their hands; they felt that their social status as gentlemen was inconsistent with the idea that their hands could be unclean. The Bible addressed this close to 3500 years ago.

Leviticus 15:13
And when he that hath an issue is cleansed of his issue; then he shall number to himself seven days for his cleansing, and wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in running water, and shall be clean. Proper Waste Disposal
Up until World War I, more soldiers died from disease than war because they did not know separate soldiers from their human waste. Once this was done, the disease related death rates during war plummeted. Again God told Israel exactly what to do with human waste, close to 3500 years ago.

Deuteronomy 23:12-13
12 Thou shalt have a place also without the camp, whither thou shalt go forth abroad: 13 And thou shalt have a paddle upon thy weapon; and it shall be, when thou wilt ease thyself abroad, thou shalt dig there with, and shalt turn back and cover that which cometh from thee: |
Instructions for Making Soap
At first glance, the water of purification sounds like a ritual of superstitious potion-making that included the ashes of a red heifer, hyssop, cedar wood, and scarlet. instead, this recipe for the water of purification is a wonderful example of the Bible’s wisdom, since the recipe is identical to that of making antibacterial soap. (lets compare this ancient recipe given by God to Moses 3500 yrs ago to our current ingredients for soap invented in the 1500s in France)

Quarantine
Between 1348 and 1359, the Black Death wiped out an estimated 30% of Europe's population, and a significant percentage of Asia's population. From this, the world began learning to separate those with a plague from the general population to control the infectious nature of plagues. However it was until the late 1800s and beginning of the 1900s that Quarantine was used on a regular basis. In the meantime, plagues were contagious and it was common for entire communities and even cities to be wiped out by a single outbreak. Israel on the other hand had no such problems, as the wisdom to immediately quarantine infectious people was written in their religious laws they practiced some 3500 years ago.

Leviticus 14:43-48
43 And if the plague come again, and break out in the house, after that he hath taken away the stones, and after he hath scraped the house, and after it is plaistered; 44 Then the priest shall come and look, and, behold, if the plague be spread in the house, it is a fretting leprosy in the house; it is unclean. 45 And he shall break down the house, the stones of it, and the timber thereof, and all the morter of the house; and he shall carry them forth out of the city into an unclean place. 46 Moreover he that goeth into the house all the while that it is shut up shall be unclean until the even. 47 And he that lieth in the house shall wash his clothes; and he that eateth in the house shall wash his clothes. 48 And if the priest shall come in, and look upon it, and, behold, the plague hath not spread in the house, after the house was plaistered: then the priest shall pronounce the house clean, because the plague is healed. |
Safe Fish to Eat
Some fish in the sea have poisons and or diseases if improperly prepared can be fatal. For instance the Pufferfish is deadly as it contains tetrodotoxin which causes muscle paralysis and even causes death in today. Others like certain bottom feeders like Catfish and Flatfish can carry diseases as they live and eat sewage and sludge. While the number of these dangerous fish abound, God proved his wisdom to all in the Bible by giving a simple means to identify the ones safe for consumption. Science now confirmed that the Bible has had it completely correct all along. |
Leviticus 11:9
These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat. |
Lizards are Dangerous
Reptiles such as snakes, lizards (chameleons, Iguanas, geckos, bearded dragons, skinks), tortoises, turtles, terrapins (fresh water turtles) have become popular as pets. They are colorful, quiet and generally easy to maintain. However recently science has found out that they carry Salmonella in their droppings, Botulism caused by soil bacteria on their bodies, and many other infections within their bodies, any one of which can kill a person. Is it little wonder that an all knowing God would prohibit even contact with the dead bodies of such animals, which now experts in the field are suggesting? |
Leviticus 11:29-31
29 These also shall be unclean unto you among the creeping things that creep upon the earth; the weasel, and the mouse, and the tortoise after his kind, 30 And the ferret, and the chameleon, and the lizard, and the snail, and the mole. 31 These are unclean to you among all that creep: whosoever doth touch them, when they be dead, shall be unclean until the even. 32 And upon whatsoever any of them, when they are dead, doth fall, it shall be unclean; whether it be any vessel of wood, or raiment, or skin, or sack, whatsoever vessel it be, wherein any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the even; so it shall be cleansed. 33 And every earthen vessel, whereinto any of them falleth, whatsoever is in it shall be unclean; and ye shall break it. |
Safe Animals to Eat
Again the simplicity which the Bible makes it to identify animals that are safe for human consumption is astounding. They have to meet both criteria of cloven hooves and chewing the cud. For instance pig meet the cloven hooves requirement but they do not chew the cud and are therefore unfit for consumption. Modern science has recently studied this further and found every single unclean animal to be unsafe. We now know pigs to be scavengers. Like all scavengers pigs carry parasites and diseases from eating dead carcasses and trash. Many of those parasites like tape worms burrow into their muscles and get passed onto humans who eat their under-cooked meat. |

Leviticus 11:3 Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is cloven footed, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat.
Leviticus 11:7 And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be cloven footed, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you. Leviticus 11:26 The carcases of every beast which divideth the hoof, and is not cloven footed, nor cheweth the cud, are unclean unto you: every one that toucheth them shall be unclean. Deuteronomy 14:7 Nevertheless these ye shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the cloven hoof; as the camel, and the hare, and the coney: for they chew the cud, but divide not the hoof; therefore they are unclean unto you. |
Conclusion
Just as with science, the wisdom of the Bible is again on full display. The Bible's supernatural origin clearly shows through by all the knowledge we are still only recently uncovering. Instead of only being known for a couple hundred years, as is the case with our modern science, God told Israel this information about this 3500 yrs ago. Most other societies hadn't even understood the dangers disease, let alone animals who carried them. This proves that the Bible is completely trustworthy and correct in everything it tells us.
Therefore we must trust the Bible when it says there is only one way to God and that is through God's only Son Jesus. The Bible says whomever believes in Jesus as his/her savior will be saved and guaranteed to go to Heaven when we die. Wouldn't you want that kind of assurance only a 100% correct Bible can give you? Pray this prayer and believe today.

Dear Lord God. I know I am a sinner and need your gift of salvation from my sins. I BELIEVE IN JESUS, the Son of God, as my personal Savior. I believe that His death on the cross and resurrection provides forgiveness for ALL my sins past, present, & future. Please forgive all my sins and come into my heart and life. I hereby trust in Jesus FINISHED WORK alone, and NOT upon me & my "good works", as sufficient to make me right with you and fit for Heaven. Please forgive ALL my sins and come into my heart, Lord Jesus. Seal me with your Holy Spirit until the day you come to take me home. In your Son Jesus’ name. Amen.
