False Assumption #1: God can't see Our Deepest Darkest Thoughts.
It is outright stupid to LIMIT what the Bible and Science calls an OMNIPOTENT, Supernatural Being. Yet people seem willing to do this with the God of the Bible because they are afraid that a LIMITLESS God can see THEIR VERY THOUGHTS and use it to condemn them with it. After all what kind of weak, hamstrung, blind god like that would worthy of our adoration? Instead the Bible is clear that this God is Limitless and the same one who created the universe and everything within 6 literal 24 hr days and easily can see our thoughts and deeds, as easily in the dark as in the light.

Genesis 6:5
And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of THE THOUGHTS of his heart was only evil continually. Genesis 8:21 And the Lord smelled a sweet savour; and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for THE IMAGINATION of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done. 1 Chronicles 28:9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth ALL the imaginations of THE THOUGHTS: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever. Psalm 94:11 The Lord knoweth THE THOUGHTS of man, that they are vanity. Proverbs 15:26 THE THOUGHTS of the wicked are an abomination to the Lord: but the words of the pure are pleasant words. |
Q #2: We are morale enough [aka do good] and don't need a God.
There are Atheist and others that consider themselves morality upright and good people. The question is just WHO are they comparing themselves to? Usually the person thinking they are good is comparing themselves to mass murderers, con artist, rapist, and pedophiles. Of course when compared to the absolute scum of the earth, everyone is going look morally upright and good. Its like children, no matter the grade, comparing themselves to mentally retarded children and saying they are doing awesome academically. Why won't anyone ever compare themselves to the STANDARD of the straight A students?
The reason for this LOWERING OF THE STANDARD of COMPARISION is that deep down we know we aren't that good at all, even if we are compared to people similar in circumstances to ourselves.

Psalm 14:3 (KJV)
They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is NONE THAT DOETH GOOD, no, not one. Psalm 53:3 (KJV) Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is NONE THAT DOETH GOOD, no, not one. Romans 3:10 (KJV) As it is written, THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, no, not one: Romans 3:12 (KJV) They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is NONE THAT DOETH GOOD, no, not one. |
False Assumption #3: God is evil torturing people for crimes of a short life.
If someone commits but one murder which took less than 5 minutes and is found guilty and given life in prison, are you not punishing a person for a LIFETIME for a crime that took but less than 5 minutes? Why is it ok for society to do the exact same thing and not ok for God to punish a myriad of crimes many even worse than murder for a much longer time, especially when the criminal makes it clear he doesn't want help or forgiveness for what he did wrong?

False Assumption#4:
So nothing we do is good nor righteous. Even saved or not saved we do not do good nor righteous. But will repenting your sins save you? Judas repented of his sin of betraying Jesus. Yet Jesus said of the 12 Judas alone was LOST.
So nothing we do is good nor righteous. Even saved or not saved we do not do good nor righteous. But will repenting your sins save you? Judas repented of his sin of betraying Jesus. Yet Jesus said of the 12 Judas alone was LOST.
Matthew 27:3
Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, John 17:12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled. |
Clearly Judas repentance of his sin didn't save him. Also Judas wasn't saved because Judas didn't believe on Jesus. For the Bible says whoever BELIEVES on Jesus will be saved.
Acts 16:31
And they said, BELIEVE on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. Mark 16:16 [Jesus speaking the Great Commission] He that BELIEVETH and is baptized SHALL BE SAVED; but he that BELIEVETH NOT SHALL BE DAMNED. 1 Corinthians 1:21 For seeing the world by wisdom knew not God in the wisdom of GOD, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching TO SAVE THEM THAT BELIEVE: |
Was Judas damned? Yes. Then its because Judas BELIEVETH NOT. Judas even repented of his sin but BELIEVETH NOT!! So the only thing that will save anyone is not "good works", not repentance of sins, but simply Believing on Jesus as your savior from ALL your SINS.
Repentance is Works & leads to PRIDE
Repentance of Sins requires work to stay away from sins and to resist. And so people who feel they are less sinful than others they become extremely PROUD in themselves and this was the same SIN the devil got thrown out of Heaven for. Even children can be saved by believing in Jesus and they have no clue how to repent of their sins.

Matthew 18:6
But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which BELIEVE IN ME, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Ephesians 2:8-9 8 For by grace are ye saved THROUGH FAITH; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast. |
The repentance the Bible REALLY calls for
The word repent means "to change your mind" but change your mind about what? Certainly not of sin, as you can see now with what happened to Judas Iscariot. The Bible rather wants us to change our mind AWAY FROM the following FALSE ideas:
The word repent means "to change your mind" but change your mind about what? Certainly not of sin, as you can see now with what happened to Judas Iscariot. The Bible rather wants us to change our mind AWAY FROM the following FALSE ideas:
- That "good works" play any part in our salvation, including keeping us saved.
- We can do enough "good works" to earn Heaven.
- Our good works are even good enough to earn Heaven.
- We can contribute even one iota to our salvation, before or after we are saved.
Dear Lord God. I know I am a sinner and need your gift of salvation from my sins. I BELIEVE IN JESUS, the Son of God, as my personal Savior. I believe that His death on the cross and resurrection provides forgiveness for ALL my sins past, present, & future. I hereby trust in Jesus FINISHED WORK alone, and NOT upon me & my "good works", as sufficient to make me right with you and fit for Heaven. Please forgive ALL my sins and come into my heart, Lord Jesus. Seal me with your Holy Spirit until the day you come to take me home. In your Son Jesus’ name. Amen.
